WAS I REJECTED OR AM I SPIRALING?
A message goes unanswered, a conversation feels different, or a small moment keeps replaying in your head. Before deciding what it means, you may want somewhere to write down what happened and what you are assuming. This illustrated reflection worksheet offers a paper space for that pause.
Was I Rejected or Am I Spiraling? brings comparison checklists, five fact questions, a feelings check-in and personal next-step ideas onto one A4 page. It is a personal reflection resource. It cannot tell you another person's intentions, determine whether you were rejected or replace professional support. You decide which prompts are useful and how much you want to write.
HELPS WITH
• Separating what you noticed from what you are imagining or assuming.
• Putting questions about an uncertain situation into words.
• Checking in with the intensity of your feelings and your immediate needs.
• Considering a different explanation without forcing yourself to dismiss your experience.
• Choosing a kind personal next step from the printed suggestions or your own ideas.
• Keeping grounding prompts and encouraging reminders beside your writing space.
REAL-LIFE EXAMPLE
Imagine that someone has not replied to a message and you find yourself rereading it. You could record the situation, note how long it has actually been and write what you know for sure. In the assumptions space, you might notice that you are predicting what the silence means. You can then consider what else could be true, rate your own feelings and choose whether you need time, rest or support. This is an illustrative use example, not a customer testimonial or a promise that the worksheet will resolve uncertainty.
HOW THE TOOL WORKS
Start with the date, situation and person or topic involved. The pink and teal checklists invite you to consider possible rejection and possible spiraling. They are reflection prompts rather than a scoring system. A checked box is not evidence of a diagnosis or a definitive answer about a relationship.
The central CHECK THE FACTS area provides five writing prompts. Below it, a four-panel check-in brings together feeling intensity, your own estimate of likelihood, how you are treating yourself and what you need now. The lower menus suggest personal responses, followed by grounding ideas, kind reminders and a place to name what you will focus on. All of these areas are sections of the same sheet.

WHAT IS ON THE PAGE
SITUATION FIELDS
Write the date, a brief description of the situation and who or what it concerns. These fields provide context if you return to the reflection later.
SIDE-BY-SIDE REFLECTION CHECKLISTS
The left column offers signs that might suggest rejection, such as an explicit no or a consistent pattern. The right column offers signs that might suggest spiraling, including imagining the worst-case scenario, overanalysing tone or comparing the moment with past hurts. The headings use might intentionally. These are subjective prompts and do not establish facts about another person.
FIVE CHECK THE FACTS QUESTIONS
What actually happened? What do I know for sure? What am I assuming? What else could be true? What would I say to a friend who felt this way? Each question has writing space for a short personal response.
PAUSE AND CHECK IN WITH YOURSELF
Two one-to-ten scales invite you to record feeling intensity and perceived likelihood of rejection. Additional choices ask whether you are treating yourself kindly, harshly or indifferently, and whether you need reassurance, time, distraction, rest, support or something else. These are personal ratings, not clinical measurements.
TWO PERSONAL NEXT-STEP MENUS
The rejection panel includes reminders about worth, feelings, controllable actions and self-compassion. The spiraling panel includes pausing, breathing, noticing the body, returning to facts, self-soothing and talking to someone trusted. Both end with a small-action question. Choose an appropriate action for your circumstances rather than treating a menu as an instruction to make a relationship decision.
GROUNDING TOOLS, REMINDERS AND FOCUS
The lower row invites you to notice five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell and one thing you are grateful for. Kind reminders sit beside four focus lines and an illustrated closing encouragement. The source artwork's encouraging language is not a promise of healing or a particular emotional result.
GREAT FOR
• Adults who like an illustrated paper space for personal reflection.
• A journaling routine that separates observations from assumptions.
• People who prefer short prompts and checkboxes to a blank journal page.
• Personal check-ins where a flexible single sheet feels easier to approach.
IMPORTANT NOTES
This resource is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or a validated assessment. Seek appropriate support when you need it. The product contains one A4 page; no bonus worksheets, US Letter file, editable Canva template or interactive form fields are included.

I would recommend printing on matte photo paper or smooth card stock, this will give you a more natural look. Soft luster paper is also nice and will add more color saturation. These are also great printed on canvas.
